I am a newbie in chiplevel repair and still in the process of learning. I have seen ME topics in this forum and others. I would greatly appreciate if someone please explain why it is necessary to clean ME region of BIOS manually. I am wondering why not a simple reflashing with the programmer wont work. What issues and symptoms a corrupted ME region can cause ?.

ME region is a software utility of Intel platform by which in a certain state machine could not be access thru network, in Me and AMT machine have some protection. Me region is identical for the PCB due to lan ID and so forth, if some one flash the bios or change the PCH then its need to clean the ME region the drawback is you compromise with the security of machine by doing this thru network machine could be hacked, but no option because we could not right me region further so we use clean ME.
